RULES
« Thread Started on Jan 25, 2008, 3:25am »

Rules. We love them, and hate them, but we all must follow them. I expect you all to read these rules. You will get one warning on each matter before you are suspended. I want to keep this as fun as possible for everyone here, so please, don’t make me give out suspensions. After two suspensions, you will find yourself expelled. I’m sorry, but that is how it is. Okay, now to the rules:

----Respect your fellow roleplayers. This does not only mean the administrators. You must try your best not to cause fights with those around you. If you can, please just let an issue go. If you feel you must exchange words, do it in a PM. Don’t involve the rest if the forum in it.

----To apply you must register first. Make an account with your character’s name(First Last), but no signature. You may only add a signature if you are accepted. View the application format forum, and please use it. If your application is premade, be sure that it covers all the same subjects as ours, and also be sure that it meets length requirements. Post you application in the “Apply” forum. The password for access is ‘Sneaky’.

----This is a Literate board. Writer’s block is, of course, acceptable, but 3 posts in a role means you should save it for another day. Try to make each post a minimum of 3 paragraphs long. A paragraph qualifies as 4 to five sentences in length. It shouldn’t be that hard. There are lots of things to roleplay about. You can write entire paragraphs on your character’s emotions, reactions, memories, or observations, just to name a few things. And that doesn’t even include dialogue.

---- Only 3 characters to a person, and each charcter must be on separate accounts. One canon character to a roleplayer, and you must have at least one member of the opposite sex if you decide to have multiple characters. I’m sorry about that, but we can’t have 15 girl made-ups, and 2 boys. Simply mot enough to go around.

----You may have your character(s) in more than one place at a time, but there is 1 rule. You can only have 4 boards going at once... Not per character, per Roleplayer. Wait to start more, because chances are if you have more than 4 RPs going, one will get neglected a little.

----Quality over quantity people, please. That, I believe is what really makes you an advanced literate. It’s better to write 3 short paragraphs(12 sentences) of really well written fiction, than to go on for ages about nothing at all, or to be repetitive. Make sure that when you’re writing you think of the person you’re roleplaying with. Think, ”Could I respond to this, if I were roleplaying with myself?”. If you can’t, then you need to put in a little more work.

----The word to gain access to the made-up character application board is ‘Pretend’. I hope you’re reading this before you apply, and not scanning the rules for the code-words. Good luck on your application.

----You are allowed to have your character(s) in more than one place at a time, but be careful. Do not take on more than you can handle. If we see you taking on seven threads at a time, but being constantly nagged to reply, or seeing that you reply to one many times while neglecting the rest, you will get a warning. It isn’t fair to your fellow roleplayers, and we don’t want you over stretched.

----The word to gain access to the canon character application board is ‘major’. I hope you’re reading this before you apply, and not scanning the rules for the code-words. Good luck on your application.

----While we do accept made-up characters, I must make this VERY clear: No Half-breeds. Your made-up may not be half- veela, vampire, werewolf, seer, giant, or anything of the like, unless specified by J.K Rowling. Yes, this means ONLY Remus. There can also be no Animagi(except the marauders) or metamorphmagi.

----Absolutely NO Mary-Sues. There is a difference between having a tragic background that works(such as drug addiction, or death), but I will not have a handful of orphans running around, or girls who get raped by their brother every summer. It’s just not realistic to have every girl be emotionally unstable or mentally damaged to that extent.

----No killing characters unless they are your own, and the method/means of death have been approved by Stephanie or Lis. If there is a duel between two characters, and it has been discussed with everyone involved, then yes, a character may die. Only Madeups, however. Canons must stick around for a little while to show up in the books XD

----No Godmonding. The closest things to God on this board are Stephanie and Lis, youre administrators. If you wish to ba almighty, make your own forum. It's free.

----Cursing is allowed, but if someone expresses distain for a certain word in particular, and the administrators hear about it, we will create a setting that doesn't allow that word to be used. You don't want the word 'fuck' to be turned into 'brownie', now do you? Please curse only where appropriate, like in a roleplay or expressing anger.

----This forum will not tolerate public sex roleplays. You may kiss and touch(not explicitly), but that is all some people care to read about. You may, however, roleplay sex or the like through PMs, and use the memory as reference. That way, readers can have an idea what happened between two characters without having to observe XXX material.
