Lily hadn't seen much of Potter around lately. Maybe he had finally given up. It was kind of quiet without him following her around everywhere asking her to go out with him. What was she thinking? She should be celebrating not dwelling on the fact he was no longer following her around anymore. He was probably up to some scheme of his with Black.
Sure Remus and Peter were also Marauders but mostly the brains behind the operations were that of Black and Potter. Which irritated her because sadly they did have brains. They just choose to waste them. She really couldn't stand people like that. Remus was usually the voice of reason, most of the time but he did prank with them on occasion. Peter was just quiet and more of a tag along.
Now that she thought about it. Though she would never admit it not even to herself she sort of missed Potter not annoying her these days. It was kind of hard to explain but she kind of did. Potter would never come to know that information especially if she would never admit it to herself.
Maybe some fresh air would knock some sense into her. Lily made her way outside to head over to the lake it was a nice place to just think and the lake was calming. After a few minutes Lily approached the lake but someone else seemed to be there. She couldn't make out their face quiet yet. Maybe it was someone she knew or someone she didn't want to see.
When Rosalie was a little girl, she and her father, Laurent, would go out to lakes and go fishing. Which was quite muggle of them. But it was some of the best times she’d have with him, so it was no shock that when she missed him, or when she just needed to breath, she’d come to the Black Lake and just sit there for a while, thinking over her life and what she’d do in the future.
It was a peaceful afternoon; the water was almost completely still, and unlike most days the trees were not dancing in the wind. Even though it was September it was an exceptionally warm afternoon, she loved it. Instead of wearing her normal, usual, weekend muggle attire, she was in some clothes she’d bought at a local wizarding store, and she rather liked them.
Rose had only been sitting at the lake, facing the water, with her eyes closed; for only five minutes when she heard someone approaching. When she turned to look and find out who it was she noticed it was Gryffindor girl, from what she remembered, but she didn’t know exactly what her name was. So instead of taking a random guess at what it could possibly be, she smiled.
Rosalie stood up from the ground and brushed herself off. “Sorry, am I in your spot? I’m Rosalie, and you are?” She asked, hoping that she didn’t sound… she didn’t even know how to describe it, snooty? Rude? Something, she didn’t know. She smiled at the girl once more and held out her hand to shake with hers, professional meeting – lame, but extremely efficient. Well, that’s what her father had always told her – introduce yourself to people like you would to anyone profession, for it’ll get you through the pleasantries quickly and then you can decide whether or not you’d like to spend time with them.
Lily loved lakes in general there was one near where she lived. It was really her and Severus' lake. They spent many summers at the bank, just talking. Then in their younger years they would swim. She loved the times she had with Severus. However, as of late she was starting to worry about him. He was taking a dark interest and Lily didn't really approve but he was still Severus. Maybe it was something he would grow out of she hoped. The two of them have been friends since they were eight. She very much cherished her friendship with Severus and didn't want to lose it.
Today was a nice, tranquil sort of day. It wasn't too cold outside. Actually it was a bit warm, the perfect temperature in Lily's opinion. There was no rain and it wasn't terribly blustery outside. Just the right breeze a perfect paradise. So of course Lily would take this opportunity to enjoy a perfect day. Lily herself was in wizarding attire. She may have been a muggleborn but she was rather fond of wizarding attire it was quite comfortable. Naturally she had Gryffindor robes to show off her house pride.
Lily breathed in the air as she approached the lake. Then the other person came in clearer. Good it wasn't someone that would start trouble with her. In fact she didn't know this girl too well. She knew she was a Hufflepuff but that was as far as her memory would take her. What was her name? Did they share a class together? What year was she? Lily looked up and saw a smile upon the girls face. That was good she seemed friendly enough. The world definitely needed more friendly people, especially now as times grew darker.
Lily saw the girl get up and brush herself off. She hoped her presence wasn't causing her to leave. After all she was here first. "No you are fine" Lily said with a smile. "I'm Lily Evans, nice to meet you Rosalie" Lily shook the girls hand as it was offered. " It's nice to just get away sometimes isn't it?" Lily said with another smile. She supposed that was why she was here. The lake was a perfect place to just escape and think for a while.
